      The Community Awards recognise a health professional or team of health professionals demonstrating exemplary capabilities in leadership, education and safety within health care.

    • Humanitarian of the Year

      Eligibility

      • Any nominated person must be 16 years or older at the time of the award date.
      • The person, group of people or project must be engaged in health care delivery or health care education
      • This award is not bound by one health discipline. All health related disciplines including medicine, paramedicine, nursing, allied health, health education, and health management will be considered
      • This award is not bound by physical geography. The nominated person, group of people or project can have occurred anywhere within the wilds of earth.
      • Special consideration will be given to people or projects that consider environmental impact strategies to reduce any potential negative environmental impact.

      Selection criteria (100-200 words per section):

      • Demonstration of leadership abilities
      • Involvement in continued education for personal advancement and/or the advancement of others through teaching, presenting at conferences, preceptorship/mentoring.
      • Long-term commitment to promoting health care through community service, public safety education, injury and illness prevention programs, enhancements in patient care or safety of the emergency transport environment.
    • Award Nominations:

      To nominate an individual or team for a Community Award please email expore@medicsbeyondborders.org with the following information:

      1. Your name, phone number and email address
      2. Your nominees name, phone number and email address
      3. Resume of nominee; including references
      4. A statement detailing in your own words on why believe your nominee should be awarded
      5. A completed selection criteria
      6. An image of your nominee doing what he/she/they do best
      7. Any further supporting documents i.e. Media coverage, previous awards
      8. (MAX email size 10MB. Please do not send more than 5 attachments)
    • Terms and Conditions

      The awards are designed to recognise people or teams of people who have given valuable service over an extended period to the advancement of health care.

      Awards are considered by the MBB executive board and their decision will be final.

      Although conflicts of interest exist, they are not necessarily negative. For this reason, all nominations will be considered however any conflicts of interest will need to be provided in writing.

      Self-nominations are acceptable.

      ​

      All nominated activities must have occurred with the 18 months prior to the nomination.

      ​

      All nominees will be contacted by MBB and advised of their nomination.

      ​

      To accept a nomination, a nominee will agree to the MBB terms of use, privacy policy and social media policy. Furthermore, winners will be required to provide a short biography and no less than two pictures for usage of MBB on its own marketing material and social media.

      ​

      Winners will be announced annually on social media and on the website
